What is Abracro? | ABRACRO

Abracro is the Brazilian Association of Clinical Research Representative Organizations responsible for the major change in the reputation of this area, which is so important for health in Brazil. It represents CROs (Clinical Research Representative Organizations) and contributes to improving processes and activities in the sector.

What a few years ago was seen as an activity that used "guinea pigs" to test new substances, today is confirmed as a totally humanized process in which the priority is the human being, their safety and well-being. This turnaround began with a group that now numbers 27 members who together fight for their common obstacles.

Over the last 17 years, Abracro has increased the representativeness of PROs at Anvisa and Conep.

Today, they are a source for these organizations which, due to the rigidity of their processes and ethical issues, often consult them before a new standard is published. They have also gained a space to discuss process improvements.

The result of this work can be seen in the rate of approved studies in Brazil, monitored by Abracro. Since 2010, there have been 780, with 72% of them approved so far.

At the other end, Abracro holds events and workshops to bring patients and the general public closer to professionals in the field. Talking to the end public on social media has established two-way communication, an opportunity for quick and safe interaction.

Our mission

Promoting continuing education: training and educating professionals to act correctly in clinical research, respecting ethics and codes of conduct. Abracro believes that access to knowledge has the power to demystify clinical research for the population, showing its benefits.

Encouraging and supporting clinical research, making CROs a reference for regulatory bodies.

Encouraging the exchange of experiences and contacts between professionals: promoting a collaborative environment where companies help each other.

Disseminating information about the sector: reinforcing the importance of clinical research in Brazil and worldwide.

Social Responsibility

Abracro has a great responsibility to guarantee training for professionals in the field. That's why it organizes workshops with a symbolic co-payment so that everyone has access.

In these meetings, the contact between the research centers and Anvisa is essential to transform everyday doubts into more quality and assertiveness in the development of studies.

All events are non-profit.
